A Path of Peace and Joy

In the past few years my husband and I have read through the whole Bible twice. During dinner we listen to some chapters recorded on CDs. And then we read additional chapters out loud to each other.

We see how God reached out to men and women. We see God’s promises and the fulfillment of his promises. In the Psalms we read about God’s steadfast love, over and over again.

The Bible is consistent. It demonstrates God’s holiness, righteousness, justice and love. The people in the Bible have human failings. Their sins are recorded transparently. Woven through the human story is a message of love and redemption. The Bible records God’s plan of redemption from promise to fulfillment.

In the New Testament we see fulfillment of words spoken by the prophets. We see God’s ultimate work of love and mercy through Jesus.

There is confusion in the world. The Bible is the ultimate source of wisdom and truth.

This weekend is Mother’s day. My mom passed away six and a half years ago. I am remembering her with deep gratitude. The photo of white flowers was taken in Finland.
