The Wichita Botanical Garden is family oriented. The great variety of flowers, herbs and trees delight the eyes. And at intervals there is a surprise for children (and adults). Huge lego animals appear throughout the gardens.
The dog pictured above had a sign that explained dogs are dichromatic (two kinds of light sensing cells), essentially color blind. A dog would see the lego sculpture in gray. The sign stated that it took 39,800 bricks to build and took 155 hours! Each lego art piece had a science note.
The rose garden was in full bloom, in pastel and bright colors.
We walked down paths that had beautiful borders.
We came to an elegant wall of flowering plants and herbs.
My favorite lego art was the Dodo bird. It featured the colors of the sunset, signaling its gradual extinction.
The grandchildren burned off extra energy at the play places.
As a family we took in the wonder of God’s creation. Do you have a favorite place to enjoy nature?

It looks like a fun place to visit! I love the borders you show just after the roses, gorgeous leaves and little flowers!
