Falling Short and God’s Love

Sometimes at night I think about past failures, frustrations, missed opportunities to show kindness, my regrets. Like all people, I am a sinner.

The Bible explains God’s great love for all people.

. . . the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.  Romans 3: 22-24

The important thing is to believe, to have faith.

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6

The words obey and commandments are repeated all through the Bible. Jesus gives instructions for growing in our faith.

Jesus said, “Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” John 14:21

We are so blessed to have the Bible!
