We live in a challenging time. There are many distractions and deceptions in social media. Do you worry about the influence of our culture on children and grandchildren? I do. What can we do?
- It is important to stay firmly established in faith. Over the years my participation in a woman’s Bible study has been a great help. God’s word stays fresh in my mind. Precept Bible studies has a website that helps you find a study group near you or a Bible study online. If you want tools for Bible study, you can find them at Blue Letter Bible.
- When my children were young, they attended the Awana program at church. They memorized Bible verses and received awards. The Bible verses come back to them.
- Family Bible reading and prayer is valuable. I grew up in a family that read the Bible together. Praying together unites a family. Over the years our family has prayed together through troubles and crises. God hears our prayers.
As we seek God through prayer and His word, He will guide us.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you. Isaiah 43:2

Paula, thank-you. God’s word is our guide.
I really enjoyed reading this. There are so many things stealing the attention of our children and families. As you stated, family Bible reading and prayer is valuable. This helps the family unit to stay together.
Lori, thank you for visiting.
This passage in Isaiah 43 is one of my favorite verses, Carol. He is always with us!
