In the current time, it is challenging for young people to find jobs. I am grateful that three of my grandchildren had summer jobs, and now they will be returning to high school and college.
I remember my jobs during high school. One summer I was a mother’s helper for a wealthy family. My senior year of high school was split between classes and a cooperative training program at a local hospital. I then worked the summer as a nurse assistant.
Throughout my nursing career I have worked at different hospitals and units. When I worked in the neonatal intensive care, I worked 12-hour night shifts. When I worked in labor and delivery, I worked 8-hour evening shifts. When I worked for a home birth group my hours were unpredictable. I was on call on the weekends and could be called out at any hour of the day or night. Sometimes, I was attending a labor patient for almost 24 hours.
My most important job has been as a mother. It doesn’t have a shift or an end date.
I pray for the young people growing up today. I pray that they can find work that provides for them and contributes to community.
The book of Ephesians explains God’s love and grace, his desire for us. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

I’ve had a handful of jobs outside the home with the longest one lasting 18 years. I have now been home 10 years homeschooling my youngest son. I’ve experienced motherhood both as a working mom and a stay at home mom. Either way, motherhood is definitely the most important job I’ve had.
I agree. Jobs are so important. They give us a sense of balance, purpose, and responsibility. Praise God! at the moment all my children are employed!
I agree. The kids today have it hard. I was very pleased that my son got a job when he was only 14. It took a little push from me, but it paid off in the end. In order for him to get a paid job at the camp in town, he had to volunteer for two summers in a row. I told him if he did that I would pay him to volunteer. He now has a steady union job and is able to support himself. He’s 35. Praise God! That doesn’t always happen. I’ve heard of mothers that have their 30 -year-olds up in their rooms, playing video games all day. WOW!

different jobs with differing levels of accountability parenting was i think the hardest job ever and I still sometimes wonder if I did it well enough
I agree, parenting is the hardest job (and the best). I remember praying that the Lord would cover my failures, his hand over my children.
