Children’s Health: Be Well Informed

The measles is in the news again with calls for vaccination. It always strikes a nerve because I remember the experience two of my children had with the MMR vaccine.

I follow information on vaccines and have recently been reading Aaron Siri’s new book, Vaccines, Amen. Siri is a lawyer and has taken depositions from vaccinologists. He has questioned them about safety trials, and they were unable to provide adequate data. He has exposed the conflict of interest between vaccinologists and the pharmaceuticals.

Siri discusses the impact of the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986. Pharmaceuticals were frequently being sued for injuries and death caused by vaccines. The 1986 law gave the pharmaceuticals immunity from lawsuits.

A section of the 1986 law required the Department of Health and Human services to send a biennial report to congress. The purpose of the reports were to show improvement in vaccine safety. The reports never happened.

In the book there is a section on the measles. Here are some quotes from the book.

Official United States government data show that in 1900, the rate of mortality from measles was 13.3 deaths per 100,000 individuals. By 1960 it was 0.2 deaths per 100,000 individuals. The same was true for 1961 and 1962. Remember the first measles vaccine came on the market in 1963. p.76

Studies show that those who have had measles are less likely to die from heart attacks and cancer and are less likely to suffer from various chronic diseases. p. 78 A Japanese study that spanned 21 years is one of the studies.

Siri also notes a consequence of the measles vaccine being added to the childhood schedule.

The measles vaccine, however, does not afford the same protection as having had the measles. A mother who has only had the measles vaccine, as opposed to the natural infection, will confer only limited protection to her baby. p.81

This book has 30 pages of endnotes. It is a deep dive into the practice of vaccination and the heavy role that the pharmaceuticals have, their financial interests and their promotion of vaccines.

I hope that in the next few years the number of recommended vaccines will be reduced and that parents will be fully informed on the risks and benefits of each vaccine. Keep in mind that the number of vaccines and doses increased dramatically after the 1986 Act that gave pharmaceuticals immunity.

The book, Vaccines and Diseases They Target, tracked the vaccines on the CDC recommended schedule. In 1983 the number of vaccines was 7 and the total doses of these was 24. In 2024 the number of vaccines is 18 and the total doses 74. This book is a good resource.

How does the large number of vaccines (some with aluminum, some with particles of DNA from aborted fetuses, and other side ingredients) affect our God given immune system?
