Over the past months I have been reading a Psalm each morning before breakfast. The Psalmist speaks plainly about his challenges and his faith in God’s steadfast love. The focus on God brings both comfort and inspiration.
By awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness,
O God of our salvation,
the hope of all the ends of the earth
and of the farthest seas;
the one who by his strength established the mountains,
being girded with might;
who stills the roaring of the seas,
the roaring of their waves,
the tumult of the peoples,
so that those who dwell at the ends of the earth are in awe at your signs.
You make the going out of the morning and the evening to shout for joy.
Psalm 65:5-8
When I go out to the garden, I see the fall flowers in bloom. The variety and colors delight my eyes. I planted the foxglove this year and it has been blooming for several weeks. I can see God’s creative work all around me.
We can seek God and his ways.
May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face to shine upon us, Selah
that your way may be known on earth,
your saving power among all nations.
Psalm 67:1-2
We have many distractions with world events, social media, the beep of our phones. Spending time in God’s word and giving thanks for the beauty around us is both calming and inspiring.
This dahlia plant give me special joy. Last year it did not flower and when I dug up the root in the fall, it appeared shriveled. I kept it, and this spring I planted it in a different spot, fertilized it and watered it frequently. It has had amazing blooms this year!

I just finished the Psalms. There is so much encouragement for our day to day within. I agree I see God and his creation all around me. Your flowers are so pretty.
