Summer Vibes at the Local Farmer’s Market

In the summer, Friday mornings have a special vibe. I grab my cup of coffee and head out the door to the Farmer’s Market.

At the market people of all ages, children, and women pushing strollers are visiting the booths. I have some favorite stops.

At the organic farmer I look at the current vegetables available. Tomatoes already? Maybe grown in a greenhouse. I check out the herbs. I have been unsuccessful in growing hyssop from seed, but here is a healthy plant for my garden!

At a bakery booth I purchase a loaf of sourdough whole wheat bread and an almond croissant. My husband and I will split the croissant and enjoy it with coffee when I get home.

The French Nuns have an assortment of bakery and some dried herbs. I asked how the dried hyssop is used and she said it is for tea. I bought a bottle of organic apple cider vinegar. Later in the summer there will be some vegetables.

I bought some asparagus from another booth, and thought about getting some falafel at booth with an interesting menu. Maybe next week.

I am sharing this post with the Five Minute Friday writing community. Kate’s prompt is: VIBE
