Autumn is here and winter is approaching—and with it, colds and flu. When my children were young, I would treat colds with garlic. My girls were willing to swallow a chopped garlic clove mixed in applesauce, but my son refused. I bought some gelatin capsules, chopped the garlic and put it in a capsule for him. We also tried garlic tea. I simmered several garlic cloves in a cup of water for two to three minutes. Then I would add some fruit juice for flavor. Read more HERE.
Over the years I have found ways to support the immune system with the foods in our diet. I like to make my own broth for home made soups. You can find directions HERE.
Elderberry juice is a staple for cold and flu season. I add a little raw honey and a tablespoon of elderberry juice to my tea. I make my own elderberry juice and you can find the recipe HERE.
During the covid pandemic, quercetin was one of the recommended supplements (anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant). It is found in fruits and vegetables. One of the sources is red onion. I use red onion in many meals—added to a salad, sauteed with fish and in a skillet corn bread. You can find more information about quercetin HERE.

Well, that looks good.
Thanks for sharing all this good information. Some of these tips I was familiar with.
I had been taking quercetin supplements for a while but was never really sure why they had been recommended so I recently stopped. Maybe I should start taking them again>
Boy, that tea looks good! Thanks for the recipes! (FMF5)
