The lilacs are in bloom! Usually they bloom in May, but this year they are early. The trees and bushes are leafing out and perennial plants are emerging from the soil. I am looking forward to planting the garden.
I have tomato plants, plus some herbs and flowers, that I have started inside. On sunny days I will set them outside, bringing them in overnight. I’m waiting for the right time to plant outside.
There is also a right time for words–the right time for speaking and the right time to be silent. Recent conversations stimulated my thoughts. When I have strong opinions, I should stop to pray. A gentle word at the right time can be an encouragement, bearing fruit in a relationship. There are other times when it is better to pause, think and perhaps remain silent.
A word fitly spoken
is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.
Proverbs 25:11
A soft answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Proverbs 15:1

Your flowers are lovely! I appreciate your thoughtful reminder to pray before we share opinions. I forget to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. God is so patient with me!
